One year ago, I took a leap of faith. I pressed “publish” on my very first self-published book—equal parts terrified and exhilarated—unsure of what would come next. Today, I’m celebrating one full year as a self-published author, and what a year it has been. When I started this journey, I didn’t just want to write a book. I wanted to create something that mattered. Something that would sit in someone’s hands during a quiet, heavy moment. Something that would remind them they weren’t alone. Over the past year, I’ve been humbled beyond words by the messages, reviews, and conversations that followed. My book has touched lives. It has helped friends and family walk through the difficult terrain of grief. It has opened space for healing conversations. And for that, I am endlessly grateful.
